snack attack

These cookies are Doves Farm Organic cookies. The one on the left is chocolate chip with dark chocolate chips (with Green & Black choco spread on top). The one on the right is a Ginger and Brazil Nut cookie. All washed down with some provamel soya milk.

Now please keep an open mind before I tell you that these are actually vegan cookies. They are made without gluten, wheat, milk, salt, buckwheat, soya, nuts, eggs or hydrogenated fat. Aside from not having the soft cookie texture, these cookies are EXCELLENT! I was so pleasantly surprised when I tried them for the first time yesterday. I picked them up on a whim at our local organic health store down the road. I am not a vegan but I do like trying new items so I would definitely get these again. The ginger one especially has a spicy kick to it.

I'm actually very happy with myself nowaways with my dessert palate. I had lost my love of desserts for about a year but I'm slowly developing my passion for everything sweet again, which could be a good or bad thing. Everything in moderation right!?

Random song of the day: Johnny Cash "Hurt"

Rain Rain Go Away

Strangely enough, although my day in the park was rudely interrupted by rain, I couldn't stop laughing as we walked back.
Poor girl kept giving me the puppy dog look!

Is it lunchtime already!?

I feel like I just ate breakfast, looked up and it was almost 1 p.m!! Thank goodness for the rumbling in my tummy as it reminded me to have lunch. I believe in eating three meals a day and snacking in between those times.

For lunch I decided to have:

Now I honestly have no idea where my interest for vegetarian sausages came from but I've been trying a lot of meatless products for lunch lately. I've been on a Linda McCartney kick for the past two days. These sausages are delicious! Granted, they aren't mouth drool good like the chicago dogs I'm used to but it's a  healthy substitute.
In addition, I ate:

Spinach makes Hanna a happy and healthy girl.

Did I tell you how much I heart Siracha?!

Looks like a bloody mess but I swear it tasted great...

Gotta take the above rascal otherwise known as my puppy Sonoma to the park! Woof..

Brand new day

My morning started off with a grueling yet amazing Total Body Conditioning class with Barrie. I adore him and his teaching method because he is strict about enforcing good form and not allowing us to slack. If I put my arms down for one second, he lets everyone in the class know it. It is a great motivational tool!

After class, I made one of these:

Using some of these:

Oh boy was it berrylicious! (NERD ALERT!) I could barely take a picture of the ingredients without wanting to scarf down my smoothie. The conditioning classes always leave my body craving something cold and refreshing. This hit the spot as you can tell :)

While walking home from my gym, I saw a sports store advertising Lucozade sport products. Lucozade from what I know is similar to the states version of Gatorade. I've had a sip of the Lucozade energy drink but have stayed away from it due to the calorie content. I think there are some 250 calories per bottle (?) I hear there is a Lucozade lite version which I am wanting to try. Naturally, after seeing the advertisement my curiosity was raised. Some of the products include recovery powder that you mix in with water for protein and carb refuel and also jelly beans that you can eat while on longer runs. Now if I could only get myself to do those so called longer runs so I can try out these products! One baby step at a time.. :o)

Well I'm off to do some abs and clean off. Peace.
